  • Photographs of Hope from Gaza

As part of our mission to amplify voices of peace, Inbal Tur Shalom recently connected via WhatsApp with a young woman from Gaza who, despite the immense challenges, believes in the possibility of a future where Gaza and Israel coexist. Her perspective is a testament to resilience and hope, a narrative often overshadowed by conflict.

Our goal is to share these voices beyond Gaza, highlighting that even in times of hardship, there are individuals striving for peace. This initiative is in its early stages, and given the current circumstances, progress will take time. However, we remain committed to fostering dialogue and understanding, one conversation at a time.

  • Women for Women: Empowering Through Connection

The Women for Women initiative supports and promotes projects by women, for women, from both Israeli and Palestinian communities, in alignment with the mission of GazEl 4 Peace.

Our focus is on fostering healing, empowerment, and connection through meaningful initiatives. Current projects include Joint Trauma Healing sessions and workshops in arts, crafts, and culture, creating safe spaces for dialogue and collaboration.

We welcome women and organizations interested in participating, facilitating, initiating, collaborating, or donating to help bring these projects to life.

    • A New Middle East

      A New Middle East

      Lecture

      16 December 2024 | 19:00 to 20:30 | Amsterdam

      Thomas von der Osten-Sacken

Listen to the recording of the lecture using the player below.

The situation in the Middle East is changing fast. Who could have expected that the regime of the Asad dictatorship will crumble so fast? But this is only one aspect of the situation in a very volatile region. Regional powers have their say as well as European countries, Russia, and the United States. Understanding who is fighting whom with whom is not easy. And while geopolitics play an important role, one should not forget that these conflicts are also about freedom, self-determination, and a better future for millions of people. What is the agenda of the rebels who have taken over the Syrian regime? And what can we expect to happen elsewhere  in the region? What should Israel do?

Thomas von der Osten-Sacken, Director of the German-Iraqi NGO Wadi, has been working in the Middle East since the early nineties. Wadi is supporting a variety of projects to empower women and strengthen civil society movements. He will talk about his experiences, how the Middle East is changing and what could be a perspective for a better future for all in this region.
