The wings to freedom
Ella finds herself in a world that is heavily influenced by war. It colors her world dark and gloomy. Soldiers form a barrier, making the beautiful and peaceful world she remembers seem unattainable. Yet Ella remains hopeful, her future is filled with dreams of love, growth and blossoming. She even fantasizes that she has wings, just like butterflies, and hopes that one day there will be a way to break through the barriers, a way to make her world beautiful and free again. She does not yet have a clear path in mind, but her hope remains a force that drives her.
Her drawing is a story of longing for freedom and finding a way to a better future, despite the obstacles that war imposes on her. As long as children can continue to dream, there is hope for a world in which peace is possible.
