A dove flying away from a loving garden filled with hearts, butterflies, and a tree. Notably, this dove does not carry an olive branch, but a rose. A rose is a flower that represents love and beauty—things our world desperately needs today and, in my opinion, lacks. Love for one another, for nature, and for the world around you. Seeing beauty in everyone, because we are all unique beings walking on the same earth.
The rose is not only known for its beauty and love but also for the thorns that must be faced before reaching the splendor of the flower. It symbolizes how carefully we must handle beauty and how, if we’re not mindful, we might even hurt ourselves on something so beautiful.
Without experiencing darker days, we cannot truly appreciate the brighter ones. Without once being pricked by a thorn, we cannot fully grasp the value of beauty. Perhaps we don’t just need peace on earth. Perhaps we need love and an appreciation for beauty first—more urgently than we realize—before we can even achieve peace. Maybe that’s why this dove doesn’t carry an olive branch but a rose, to remind us of this. Because a world without love is like a room without light.
