Sometimes the world around us seems hopeless, but then I see how a child, living in the most dire circumstances, draws a picture of two flags — those of Palestine and Israel — equally large and equally important. In that simple drawing lies a powerful message of equality and peace. It reminds me that even in an environment full of conflict and despair, a child has the ability to bring forth a spark of hope for the future.
Art not only provides children with a way to express emotions and thoughts that are difficult to put into words, but also offers a safe outlet in a world full of chaos. That’s precisely why I find it so special that, through this foundation and this project, I’ve been able to contribute to creating that space and hope. Not just for the children, but also for myself — and hopefully, this inspires you, as a reader, to feel that same hope.
